We are quite possibly nearing the end of our most successful year of junior sailing in the club’s history. We have got 12 sailors into the RYA pathway at varying levels which is amazing. For those who love to race, your work has paid off and the club is very proud of you! A place in these squads, getting onto the RYA pathway is a huge achievement. Sailors have to deliver results, put in a season of very hard work and show clear potential to improve. They have to perform in squad indicator and ranking events over the course of a very demanding racing season at events all over the country. Then the hard work begins – training hard all winter, working on fitness, classroom work, and learning what it takes to progress to the next level. These sailors have shown the RYA that they have the potential to progress into the UK’s youth sailing programme and beyond, and for some that leads to a place on the Olympic podium. This is where it all starts… Congratulations!
Our top twelve – Ben Willett, Guy Farmer, Theo Phillips, Adam Rowlatt, Ollie Vowles, Georgia Phillips, Huw Farmer, Aimee Stephenson, Miles Everett, Tommy Willett, Luc James and Maddie Vowles – have now been entered into the new Junior Squad Wall of Honour!
