Junior and Novices Morning Handicap Race has finally kicked off!
The first one was too windy, the second one had too little wind… so well done folks for persevering and coming along today!
There were 2 teams. Seren handicapped by her dad crewing in the 420, and Tim Blacklock with his daugher Arwen in their Enterprise. Very much a family affair. Seren started well, and took the windward mark by a good distance, after that for a while both teams ignored the official course until the safety cover corrected! A long beat to South and Seren was still in front, but on the run back the Blacklocks in their Enterprise found some clear water and good pressure and the lead was theirs! A lead they held onto for the remaining 2 legs. They will enter next week as series leaders.
We look forward to welcoming any further teams for Sunday racing – if you’re relatively new to sailing or not very experienced racer, this is the race for you. It’s just one lap around the course, starting first without the pressure of others in close proximity, with plenty of support on our gorgeous lake! A lot of fun, banter and healthy competitive spirit among friends with the safety team and Race Officer keeping you on track! Come and have a go!
