JUNIOR & NOVICE RACING
Morning Handicap (MHJN)
1st START: 1 LAP: DONE !
ANY BOAT, ANY, ABILTY, ANY AGE
You’ll need to be rigged and changed by 10.45 ready to sign up, attend a briefing with the Race Officer and launch ready for an 11.20 am Start.
If you don’t yet own a boat, you may hire one from the club – please see our membership pack for terms & fees.
FORMAT: Junior and Novices will start together on the first start with a ‘5,4,1, Go’ sequence. The onus will be on the more experienced racers to keep clear of you. The committee boat will display the course so make sure you bring a marker to note it down on a lake plan so you know where you’re heading. Lake plans can be found in the club. It’s a one lap course and a safety boat will lead you round and answer any questions you have on where to go (safety duty permitting). Once finished, you can head in for lunch. If you’d like to race with the General Handicap fleet in the afternoon, then feel free to partake in one or both of the afternoon and evening races which run back to back, starting no earlier than 1.30pm.
The Morning Handicap Junior and Novice Series runs all season with Trophies presented to Juniors and Novices respectively at the annual prize giving.
The emphasis is on fun and learning with others of similar ability so please come and give it a go!
